Evaluation

I think the photography itself is successful, I also think the way I collated my images is effective in presentation. However if I had been able to do my photoshoot earlier I would have been able to make my work more informative and cohesive. I would have added text and blown up the images into A3 to give the effect of an actual magazine instead of just a small zine of my images.

I can see the influence of Louise Lynn Bjerregaard’s debut collection in my knitted letters despite how difficult it was to learn how to knit and then immediately jump into letter forms. I think because of my material I wasn’t able to successfully communicate the font Martin but the material was important as I was experimenting with constriction, echoing the purpose my font was made for. Having been used in protests organised by Martin Luther King the want to rid unjust restrictions with bold and straight to the point lettering.

My next steps are to learn how to use indesign and turn my imagery into a magazine.

I really enjoyed the grass ordinary in the hallway, it’s presentation was impressive, I love it going up the wall and it’s definitely very different to anything else in the exhibition.
